The Wisconsin Herd – Milwaukee’s G-League affiliate team based in Oshkosh – announced they had traded for the forward Monday afternoon. The Herd sent back Lindell Wigginton and a first round pick in the G-League draft.
Aleem Ford averaged 8.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game for the Badgers during his senior year in 2020, which landed him the first overall pick in Puerto Rico’s basketball league the following year.
In December of 2021 Ford was signed to 10-day contracts by the Orlando Magic and played five games, averaging 15 minutes and three points per-game.
Since then Ford has jumped between Puerto Rico and the Magic’s G-League affiliate.

The Herd are currently 12-13 on the year, sitting in 9th place in the G-League Eastern conference.
Ford will likely make his Herd debut on Saturday, March 9 in a game against the Grand Rapids Gold, the Denver Nuggets G-League affiliate. Their first game back in Wisconsin is a March 15 clash against the Motor City Cruise.
